Starting April 2, I am starting the Murph exercise workout, consisting of a 1 mile run followed by 100 pull-ups, 200 push ups and 300 squats and finish with another 1 mile.
Because we are under quarantine, I am running in our backyard – took a satellite measurements thanks to Google Map – 30 laps around would equal 1 mile.
To achieve all the requirements, I broke the exercise down into smaller sets. First round is a continuous 1 mile run with 30 laps.
Then 6 sets of 5 pull-ups, 10 push ups, and 15 squats and conclude with a 10 laps run around the yard.
The set is then repeated 2 more times.
By the third time, there would be 90 pull-ups. 180 push-ups, and 270 squats and 2 miles of work would have been completed.
A final round will consist of 10 pull ups, 20 push-ups, and 30 squats and an extra 5 lap sprints.
Day one of my work out, as you can see, I started somewhat in shape already except for the love handles. But, let’s see how 30 days of this intensity workout would transform my body.
What I noticed from today’s workout is the feeling of tire and sleepiness at 10 pm – sleep has been a challenge for me for the better half of 2019. Perhaps this workout would help me reset my cycle and return me back to 5+ hours of sleep a night. I am hopeful and excited to be on this journey!
