MDA set an atmosphere for a night filled with history, inspiration, culture, and forward-looking. Their theme for this year, Lighting The Way: Legacy Award, brought together and recognizes elders within the MDA community who had made sacrifices and led the way for new Montagnard-American generations. On stage among the elders receiving the legacy award was a veteran of the Vietnam war. Immigrant and refugee communities bear the scars of conflicts for many generations, but as survivors, they continue to thrive. What a great honor to be invited to share the evening with the MTD community.
