School is probably the last thought you’d want to have wandering in your mind – unless you’re an academics or someone who is considering going back for vocational training. So why has it crossed my mind?
I felt this way. To a large extent I still do – especially if it means returning back to work on another degree program. Having settled on a career and a routine to adult life, why would I want to be stressed out with grades and missing assignments?
But. Here’s the big but lurking and wondering in the back of my mind: what if school doesn’t have to be about graded assignments and deadlines?
What would I go back for?
I wonder this thought for some time now and on almost on whim last week, I Google searched for “adult” education classes offered by any nearby community colleges or universities.
I found an Intermediate Spanish course – described only as a pass fail course. For only $65, I was registered!
On the form of registration, a survey question was asked: why are you taking this course?
Among the listed option? “For fun”
So now I am truly looking forward to going to school – for fun, this time around!
