I know that an Iced Caffe Americano in North Carolina’s Starbucks only costs $7.10, but did you know that $7 can also get you a 20lbs bag of rice in Vietnam?
That’s why I’m making fundraising and asking you, my friends, to chip in for my Ice Caffee Americano. If we ever had coffee, lunch, or shared a meal in the past, I invite you to this virtual coffee hangout with me. Although instead of drinking coffee, I will accept your kind offer to pay and use it to buy rice and food for villagers in Srok Thom – my hometown.
Some of you may know, Vietnam has gone on strict lockdown across the country and this has hit poor villagers and farmers the most. They are unable to travel freely and cannot travel between their homes and farms or to the market, and so they are running out of food basics such as rice.
With your help, I am going to coordinate food purchases with the town’s monastery where food will be dropped off and the villagers can come and pick it up.
