Food Forest For Greensboro – An Idealist’s Fantasy

In 2019 I wrote a project proposal, complete with budget breakdown and location targets, in the hope that such an idea might gain traction and voted into the city’s participatory budget. Suffice it to say, it did not. We do not have a food forest today, anywhere, that I know of that falls within the spirit of that proposal. I want to share this proposal again, I believe the idea of accessible food spots is more important than ever now. I hope this idea gets picked up by someone with either the means or power to make this a reality. As a resident, I would rather see food forests than pretty parks and synthetic grasses.
